Available in either round or square profiles, coir fibre
logs are ideal for constructing check structures, managing
changes in stream flow velocity, shaping channels, stabilising
shorelines and are a natural planting medium for vegetation.
All our
coir logs are made of 100% coir (coconut) fibre and bound by
a coir netting to give a totally biodegradable material lasting
up to 4 years. They are easily installed and will blend naturally into the environment over time.
The installation of the coir logs can be carried out at any time of the year. They can be strung together to form a shoreline chain or stacked parallel to form a wall. Coir
Logs are installed at the mean annual water level and fixed with
wooden stakes.
Exclusive to Landplan, coir bio logs are also available with Lomandra spp already established at 0.20m centres for rapid colonisation and stabilisation of actively eroding gullies, streambanks or channels.
