Rolled erosion control blankets are used on embankments to protect the soil surface from the effects of raindrop impact and low velocity sheet and concentrated flows. These products are of a temporary nature and are designed to biodegrade as vegetation takes over the job of protecting precious soil. Jutemaster ® has been exclusively developed with a dense matrix of jute fibres to suppress weeds and promote growth and stability on steep slopes and areas that could be affected by erosion.

With the ability to enhance water infiltration while protecting precious topsoils, Jutemaster ® is the simplest, safest, and most cost effective method of promoting new growth on the worst affected slopes.   

Jutemaster ® is ideal for steep slopes such as cuttings and embankments where loose mulches will simply gravitate downhill over time or be washed away by even moderate rainfall.

Jutemaster ® may also be used for rehabilitating creek banks where correctly installed it has the capacity to withstand moderate flood events (flows of up to 2 m/sec) until riparian vegetation is established.
