Standard Silt Socks are made from non-woven geotextile filter cloth. They are supplied in 150mm diameter x 4m lengths or on a 50m Roll. The ends are tied off with cable ties (not supplied). Heavy Duty Silt Socks are made from woven monofilament geotextile. They are 150 mm diameter x 1.2m in length, are closed at one end with a tie off at the other and are supplied in bundles of 10. Silt Socks are typically filled with aggregate and arranged around a stormwater drain to prevent sediment from entering waterways. They can also be used to create a ‘bund’ or confined area to trap sediment during dewatering operations. |
